Pre-Thanksgiving Vacation

Each year we head to the Coast with Andy's family for our early Thanksgiving celebration. This year we were in Depot Bay at Ken and Terry's lovely Time Share. It was nice to get away and have a change of pace for a few days. The kids loved having their cousins close by to play with. Kenneth and Aidan love playing in the sand - - I'm thinking that maybe we should get them a sandbox....

Some of my favorite photos are of Andy and the boys at the beach.

We had a few of days of good weather, so we made it to the beach 3 different times. Here are the boys feeding the birds.

Thankfully we had a few of days of good weather, so we made it to the beach 4 different times, that's pretty good for mid-November!

Cousin Love =)

On this particular trip, Kenneth had the idea of bringing candy for all of his cousins. So he excitedly picked out a piece (from Grammy's tub) for each of his cousins and when we got to the beach he proudly handed them out. Here's Keely enjoying her lollipop. =)

Here we are on an early morning walk into Depot Bay. Our plan was to stop and pick out some Salt Water Taffy, but the store wasn't opened yet, so we went back later that day.... I keep joking around with Andy that our children are going to look back at their childhood pictures and wonder if Mommy was ever around.... I always seem to be the one holding the camera. =)

We fed the birds a few different times, but the beach by Moe's in Lincoln City proved to be the most fun! The birds there were crazy! They made such a racket! Here are some videos and pictures of our fun time feeding the birds...

I'll post more videos later....

The beach is great, but whatever you do DO NOT give in to the temptation is to get them a sand box. Remember the whole wet and muddy shoe thing? Now think about having to deal with dirt (sand) coming in the house ALL YEAR. It is a nightmare that gets tracked all over your house. Yes your kids would love it, yes you would be being good parents, but you will later just have to break their hearts when you dump out the sand and sell the cute little ladybug sandbox on craigslist to some other good-mom wannabe. Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything...
